Maine has approximately 5,000 rivers and streams, along with 2,500 lakes and ponds. Northern Maine has two major rivers; the St. John and the Allagash rivers. These rivers are home to some of the best canoeing anywhere. Northern Maine prides itself on its beautiful scenery and wildlife. One way to experience what Northern Maine has to offer is to adventure down the river in a canoe enjoying the breath-taking views of trees and animal life you will see.
